Reminds me of Korean manwa (What they call manga in Korea) style.  The water ripples, the dramatically curving lily stems and the elaborate gilt chrysanthemum are all staples of the style, and of course loose fitting clothing is a must for a waterside scene, regardless if Sherlock and Watson are in it.
P.S.  Watson, save some watermelon for me.  It is my favorite after all.
